Vascular disease can affect your blood vessels’ ability to circulate blood, putting you at risk for severe complications. Exceptional care from St. Peter’s Health Partners helps you avoid these issues.

Our vascular disease specialists have decades of experience delivering high-quality services that optimize your health. Services include prevention, early detection, and lifelong follow-up care. You also have access to sophisticated surgical and nonsurgical therapies, some of which are not widely available in the Capital Region.

Why Choose St. Peter’s Health Partners for Your Vascular Care?

We offer world-class vascular disease services close to home. Our team includes highly skilled, board-certified vascular surgeons, some of whom are advancing the field through research. Services reflect the latest science in vascular disease therapies. We work alongside other St. Peters Health Partners specialists whenever necessary, making it easier for you to heal.

Focus on Prevention

Protecting the people in our community from complications of vascular disease is one of the most important things we do. We perform sophisticated assessments as part of our nationally recognized vascular testing service, taking the time to get to know you as an individual, including your complete health history. This information enables us to tailor services to your needs with therapies that optimize your vascular health.

Life-Saving Stroke Care

We deliver emergency stroke treatment any time, day or night. Our commitment to leading care practices has earned our program national recognition. St. Peter’s Hospital maintains the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award. The award recognizes our commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines following the latest scientific evidence.

Conservative Treatment Approach

We consider nonsurgical treatments first, including medications and lifestyle changes. Care includes helpful tips and support that give you the best chances of achieving your goals. In-office procedures that may help some people avoid surgery include phlebectomy to remove varicose veins, and laser ablation to close off damaged blood vessels.

If you might benefit from vascular surgery, we explain recommendations in ways that are easier to understand. We also coordinate all the services you need, from presurgical testing to recovery and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation.

Chronic Wound Healing and Limb Preservation Services

Vascular disease can cause stubborn wounds that require specialized therapies. Our wound care center offers a full range of treatments to promote healing. You have access to options that are not commonly offered, like hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

For chronic wounds that fail to respond to standard therapies, you still have options. Our advanced limb preservation program includes surgical and nonsurgical therapies that help many people avoid limb loss. We are the only program in the region offering this service.

Easy Access to Vascular Disease Services

We are one of the few programs in the region with cardiovascular clinics offering walk-in services for urgent cases. For nonurgent issues, we typically see new patients within two business days.

You’ll meet with a physician assistant or nurse practitioner who specializes in vascular disease. If we identify a severe issue, you’ll see a vascular surgeon in the same visit.

Vascular Disease Conditions We Treat

We treat common issues like high blood pressure and peripheral artery disease. Our experts also excel in caring for people with complex and life-threatening conditions, like aortic aneurysms. You can expect complete care and support that makes living with vascular disease a little easier.
