Colleague Resource
CARE MANAGEMENT/COLLEAGUE HEALTH PLAN TEAM

Meet Pamela K. Bayly-Kniskern, RN
Care Manager, Care Coordination
How long have you been with St. Peters Health Partners and what is your current role?
I joined SPHP in 1992 and I am currently an RN Certified Care Manager for St. Peter’s Health Partners Colleague Outreach. I started here as a registrar in the Emergency Department when I was going to school. I graduated as a paralegal and worked in Human Resources before going back to school to be an RN. I have also worked in acute care at another local hospital, Home Care, Hospice, and Care Management.
What is your favorite part about the job?
I love the opportunity to connect with colleagues. Everyone is unique and has their own story, and yet, we are all in this together. My most memorable moment was being able to support and help meet the needs and goals of a colleague in the community. It is very rewarding when I am able to assist someone with their personal challenges here.
What is your best advice for SPHP patients when experiencing a medical encounter?
My best advice is don’t be afraid to ask questions. Be an advocate for yourself or have someone who can advocate on your behalf. Participation and commitment in a plan of care are important as you are the star player on your health care team. I encourage and support patients and colleagues to nurture their health for optimal quality of life today and in the future.
What are your hopes and dreams for the future?
It is important for our future that we recognize we are all individuals with needs, hopes, and dreams. That is why striving to overcome the financial and social obstacles we face to provide access to quality health care for all is an important goal. I would also like the opportunity to visit family, friends, and far-away places.
What do you do when you are not working?
I love spending time with family and friends. I especially enjoy outdoor activities like horseback riding, walking, and swimming ... when it is warm. Cooking, crocheting, and reading are my favorite cold-weather activities. Music is also an important part of my life.
