St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary
A History and Mission of Service
For more than 112 years the men and women of St. Mary’s Auxiliary have worked together to achieve its mission to promote, support and engage in activities with special concern for the needs of the poor and medically underserved. We are committed to building on a shared vision and a mutual call to stewardship and strive to promote a healthy and just society.
The Auxiliary operates Rose’s Gift Gallery. The gift shop is staffed by volunteers and is an important source of income to benefit the Auxiliary and our community. In addition to its work at the St. Mary’s Campus, the Auxiliary supports several community activities such as:
- Local food pantries
- Our members donate 100’s of hats, gloves, and mittens to various groups
- Street Soldiers

A Place for You
St. Mary’s Auxiliary is a place where friendships are forged and people connect in both social and service settings. Auxiliary's may work on committees, assist with special projects, serve on the Auxiliary’s governing Board, or to help with various programs in a variety of capacities. We also offer times to “play” – at picnics, parties, social outings, holiday events, and special occasion celebrations. We encourage fellowship and welcome both Auxilians and guests to join in these activities.
Welcome Molly Sue
St. Mary’s Auxiliary is proud to have Molly Sue, a therapy dog as a member. Molly Sue and her owner visit the Hildegard Medicus Cancer Center on Thursdays to provide companionship to patients. During other events, Molly Sue can be seen passing out healthy snacks and putting a smile on patients’, visitors’, and employees’ faces.
Volunteer Opportunities
In addition to assisting with the various Auxiliary-sponsored activities and events, many of our members are also active volunteers at Samaritan's St. Mary’s Campus, performing many vital tasks. Schedules can be flexible, and we are sure to be able to find a spot for you to use your talents, to develop new skills, and to enjoy the “spirit of giving” that characterizes our volunteers.
