Megan had severe complications after the birth of her second child.

Listening closely, healing deeply.

“They were attentive. They answered all my questions. I developed relationships with nurses and doctors that I saw throughout both pregnancies.”

– Megan, patient, St. Peter's Hospital

“The care they provided was personal to me and my family. I was treated as an individual woman who had my own experiences and the care they gave me was tailored to me and my concerns.”

“Kangaroo care”: Placing your newborn on your chest for skin-to-skin contact immediately after delivery

Lactation and breastfeeding: We strongly encourage lactation and breastfeeding, with specialized staff here to provide support.

“Rooming-in”: You and your infant are kept together until discharge.

Family bonding: Your partner is welcome to stay overnight — we’ll provide a sleeping area, offer meals and pay for parking.

Couplet care: Also known as parent-baby nursing, the family adjusts to their role as primary caregivers for their newborn. One nurse is assigned to the parent-baby pair.

NICU bonding: We’ve designed our NICU to be more welcoming and facilitate bonding when there are complications.

Level III NICU

Lifesaving care for your child.

Our NICU cares for premature and critically ill newborns with compassion and expertise. A team of neonatologists, nurses, respiratory therapists and other specialists work around the clock to support your baby’s growth so they can return home as soon as they’re ready.
