Medical Library Information Services
Patrons may:
- Submit information by phone, fax, in person, or e-mail.
- Request information searches/literature searches.
- Use reference materials and circulating books.
- Borrow books and obtain copies of journal articles from a large network of libraries.
- Access electronic databases for research.

The Librarian can assist in a variety of tasks:
- Narrow/expand research.
- Generate topics.
- Locate and retrieve sources.
- Offer individualized tutorials for: CINAHL, PubMed, Ovid, Google Scholar, bibliographic formats, etc.
Medical Library Collection
- Reference and text books.
- Digital books.
- Print/online journals.
- Online databases.
- Computers, printer, fax machine and copier.
- Times Union (print; keep most recent week; M-F) and New York Times (Online access only).
- Comfortable, quiet reading area.
Loan Policy
- All materials, except reference books, may be borrowed for 2 weeks and renewed for an additional 2 weeks.
- Print Journals cannot circulate outside the library.
Interlibrary Loan Service
- The library offers ILL service for book requests the Medical Library does not own.
- Since these materials are borrowed from other institutions, please return the books on time!
Patrons
For library services, please present St. Peter’s Hospital employee identification.
General Information
Library Staff Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mon-Fri.
Library Access: Use your id badge to open the security door when Library Staff are out of the office.
