I tried other Endocrinologist, after my Endo retired, they didn't meet my expectations, of listening, and treating me in the best way possible. Dr Usmanti, Laurie and the other staff there do. The support staff in the front, were helpful, and you can tell they enjoy their jobs. That's likely due to a good work environment.

Dr. Usmani, while treating mt for hyperparathyroidism, suspected I might have another endocrine problem of acromegaly. I did and had surgery for both conditions. This visit was a follow up on the continuing treatment, medication, and testing I will need for years to come. She not only diagnosed a rare abnormality, but very closely monitors my progress. I feel like we are partners and teammates rather than just patient and provider.

I changed to this provider a year ago as the previous provider was not meeting my expectations for the care of my T1 diabetes. I feel very comfortable with the team, the provider, her nurse and her Diabetic Educator. I've referred other people to the practice as they do a wonderful job explaining things and getting back to me, when I have a question or concern.
The reception people could try to be friendlier
The physician is excellent; well versed in my health condition. Accessed and carefully reviewed my history and blood work. Discussed my medicine and side affects. Discussed general health and habits. Very friendly and courteous.

She helps me find medications that would be easier for me to take (example: liquid vitamin D3 - I have trouble taking the gels, as I have esophageal cancer). Dr Usmani was highly regarded on a thyroid website I joined. I travel an hour and a half for my appointments with her. Dr Usmani detected a high calcium number and ordered an additional test which confirmed an overactive parathyroid! I have continued to recommend St Peter's and Dr Usmani above local (Utica NY) endocrinologists. I'm grateful to have found her! She is an exceptional endocrinologist.
