Personalized, comfortable recovery

After surgery, you recover in an area dedicated to orthopedic patients. The area includes a rehabilitation gym, making it easier to access therapies that help you get moving again. To maximize comfort, you wear your clothes instead of a hospital gown. You receive care from a highly skilled team that gives you the attention you deserve.

Joint Replacement Services at St. Peter’s Health Partners

We offer a broad range of options, making it easier to tailor care to your needs. Services available at St. Peter’s include:

  • Total joint replacement: Surgeons remove the entire joint and replace it with an artificial device.
  • Partial joint replacement: This procedure replaces the damaged joint tissue and preserves the healthy portion. For knees, you may only need one of the three parts of the joint replaced.
  • Joint replacement revision surgery: If the replacement joint isn’t working as it should, you may need an additional procedure to adjust or replace it. Reasons for revision surgery include infection, joint loosening and problems with nearby tissue.
  • Nonsurgical therapies: Medications, injections and activity modifications may delay or prevent the need for joint replacement surgery.

Rehabilitation After Joint Replacement Surgery

We use sophisticated surgical techniques that are gentler on your body. Depending on the type of joint replacement and your ability to perform self-care activities, you might not need therapy. Patients who need physical or occupational therapy receive services in St. Peter’s Health Partners clinics close to home. Explore physical medicine and outpatient rehabilitation.

Patients who need extra assistance after surgery may benefit from home-based care. Our care coordinator helps you access these services.
