St. Peter’s Hospital 

St. Peter’s Hospital, part of St. Peter’s Health Partners, retained its #1 ranking in Albany and was named a Best Regional Hospital by U.S. News & World Report on its list of 2024-2025 Best Hospitals. It is ranked 17th in New York state.

This is the 11th consecutive year St. Peter’s Hospital has received the Best Regional Hospital designation.

In addition, St. Peter’s Hospital was ranked as a High Performing hospital for two adult specialties and 12 conditions/procedures. This is the highest distinction a hospital can earn for U.S. News’ Best Hospitals and Conditions ratings. The two adult specialties are gastroenterology/GI surgery and urology, and the procedures/conditions are:

• aortic valve surgery
• colon cancer surgery
• chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD)
• heart attack
• congestive heart failure (CHF) 
• heart bypass surgery
• hip replacement
• kidney failure
• knee replacement
• lung cancer surgery
• pneumonia
• prostate cancer surgery

In 2023, Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital ranked 33rd on the best hospitals list, which is normally dominated by hospitals in larger metropolitan areas. This is Sunnyview's third year to rank among the top 50 hospitals recognized for excellence in rehabilitation out of nearly 5,000 inpatient rehab facilities nationwide.

Sunnyview helps patients recover from stroke and heart attacks, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and major surgeries and illnesses. It is the only free-standing hospital in upstate New York dedicated to physical rehabilitation and was the first one outside of the metropolitan centers of New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh to make the list.

The ranking is based on a number of factors, including quality outcomes, number of patients treated, and the opinion of specialists from across the country.
