Play is the essence of our Pre-K program. It is the children's way of learning about themselves, the environment and others. Through play, children learn to communicate effectively and develop problem solving and social skills. In the process, their creativity and confidence is reinforced. Open-ended materials are always available and offer opportunities for exploration and experimentation.

Young children learn best through concrete and sensory experiences. Using a thematic approach to teaching, our Pre-K teachers skillfully fill our program with activities that promote math, science, writing and literacy development. Our classroom environments change to reflect and reinforce the current topic of exploration. Outdoor experiences are offered daily. Our teachers have worked to develop a program that allows children to explore areas of learning through play and directed activities. They have incorporated the NYS PRE-K standards and the Early Learning standards into the curriculum to prepare children for Kindergarten while still allowing them the ability to grow and learn in a warm, creative environment.
