Spine & Neurosurgery

St. Peter's Hospital offer comprehensive surgical care to patients suffering from back and neck pain, as well as a host of other illnesses ranging from trigeminal neuralgia to head injury and Parkinson's disease.

Our highly experienced neurosurgeons are committed to providing comprehensive care, beginning with conservative approaches and moving on to more complex surgical solutions, if indicated. Each patient receives an evaluation and individualized treatment plan by a highly trained, board certified spinal or neurosurgical specialist.

Evaluations

Our surgeons work collaboratively in making the most appropriate recommendations for each patient’s individualized treatment plan, stressing a conservative approach when indicated. Initial outpatient evaluations will be performed as quickly as possible.

Treatment Options

Conservative treatment options include physical therapy and image-guided spinal injections. In more complex cases, surgical procedures such as discectomy, laminectomy, cervical fusions or lumbar fusions, and artificial disc replacements may be necessary. Where radiation is appropriate, our high-resolution beam uses pinpoint accuracy to treat cancers of the head, neck and spine, targeting tumors and lesions with pinpoint precision. It has also been used as an effective treatment for trigeminal neuralgia and other non-cancerous conditions.

Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Services

To meet your individual treatment needs or for rehabilitation after surgery, St. Peter's Hospital provides a full complement of rehabilitation services. Through our continuum of specialized care, we have helped many patients resume pain-free, active lives.
