Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital's Acute Ventilator Weaning Program helps patients who are dependent on mechanical ventilation achieve their highest-possible level of functional independence. Our comprehensive program has one of the most highly skilled rehabilitation teams in the region and proudly serves patients from all over the country. Our program offers services for a multitude of diagnoses.

Our Acute Ventilator Weaning Program, developed from evidenced-based studies, is one of only a few programs in the United States to offer a multidisciplinary approach. What sets our Ventilator Weaning Program apart is that we are an acute rehabilitation hospital; not a nursing home. This seamless integration of acute medical care and rehabilitation services allows us to tailor to the unique needs of each individual patient, providing the best-possible outcomes. In 2017, 82 percent of our patients were able to be weaned off of the ventilator. Learn more.

Improving Function and Independence

At Sunnyview, we strive to improve function so that patients are able to return home as independent as possible. Our patients' goals are our priority! Patients can expect:

• Individualized therapy plans
• Therapy services offered seven days a week
• At least three hours of therapy, five days a week
